CLAY04 6' GREEN CLAY FROM OUTER SPACE: home invasion

INT AFTERNOON MEDIUM: KATIE'S KITCHEN

                             KATIE

(camera focuses on the swinging door)

(sound cue: door slams)

(voiceover)

Mom, I'm home.

(pushes open kitchen door wearing school clothes and backpack)

Mom, I'm...

(camera turns to see mom being tied to a kitchen chair by
Henchman1, shot widens to include Villain and Henchman2
flanking)

                              MOM

(shouts)

Run, Katie! Run!

(Katie turns and bolts through two-way swinging door, Henchman1
stuffs a gag in Mom's mouth)

                            VILLAIN

(face covered with half a dozen small bandages to cover snake
bites, motions to Henchman2)

Well, don't just stand there, stop her!

(Henchman2 pursues but is slammed in the face by the swinging
door, flops backward out cold)

(Villain motions to Henchman1)

Go get her before she gets away!

(Henchman1 hurries to the swinging door, then carefully touches,
then pushes door fearfully)

Hurry, you fool! She's getting away!

(Henchman1 exits kitchen crouching, hands in Karate readiness)

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ENTRYWAY

                           HENCHMAN1

(approaches front door, pulls it open quickly, stands ready to
fight)

Ha! Ya!

(sees nothing outside)

Where did she go?

(turns toward stairs, shouts)

She's still in the house, Boss. I think she ran up...

(looks up just in time to see Katie's backpack full of books
falling on his head, groans, drops like a sack of flour)

                            VILLAIN

(enters from kitchen, to Henchman1, pointing up the stairs)

Why are you laying around?! Get her!

(kicks Henchman1, fails to arouse him)

It's almost impossible to get good help these days.

(turns toward kitchen)

You, in the kitchen, go get her!

                           HENCHMAN2

(enters from kitchen staggering)

I'm okay, Boss. I'm okay.

                            VILLAIN

I don't care how you are!

(points up)

Get the girl and FIND THAT PAYLOAD!

                           HENCHMAN2

(climbs stairs unsteadily)

Yessir, Boss. I... I'm on... it.

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

                             KATIE

(closes door, picks up phone, dials 911, lays the phone face-up
on the bed, crosses to window, slides it open, steps one leg
through, stops, turns)

The clay!

(crosses to a close-up of a serving tray full of green clay
miniatures, all animals have their heads removed, several
inanimate objects are cut in half, she grabs the tray, then
exits the room through the window)

(sound cue: phone: "911 emergency. What is the nature of your
emergency? Hello? This is 911 emergency. What is the nature of
your emergency? Hello? Sir, if you can hear me, we're sending a
police car to your address. Please stay on the line. Are you
there?")

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

(Katie climbs out through the dormer window, climbs up the roof
to the top of the gable, sits on it, places tray on her lap,
picks up the pieces of a green clay pigeon, presses them
together, holds the assembled pigeon in the palm of her hand)

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

                           HENCHMAN2

(kicks open the door, jumps through the doorway in Kung Fu
stance, shouts)

Ha! Ya!

(looks both ways, looks toward closet, sneaks to it, opens the
door, jumps into the doorway in Kung Fu stance, shouts)

Ha! Ya!

(looks around, shouts)

She's not here, Boss.

                            VILLAIN

(voiceover)

Find her, you air head!

                           HENCHMAN2

(looks toward window, shouts)

The window is open, Boss. I think she went up on the roof.

                            VILLAIN

(voiceover)

Well?! What's keeping you?! Go get her!

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

(the green clay bird in Katie's hand grows and turns three
shades of grey, then it leaps off her hand and flies away,
below, Henchman2 pokes his head through the window and looks
down, then right, then left then he looks up, then pigeon poop
splats on his face, he groans, withdraws through the window too
fast, hits the back of his head on the window, recoils, smacks
face on the sill, flops on the floor out cold)

INT AFTERNOON MEDIUM: KATIE'S KITCHEN

                            VILLAIN

What's going on up there?!

Hello?!

Good grief!

(to Henchman2 flat on the floor)

Get up there and find the payload or bring me the girl!

                           HENCHMAN1

(groans, struggles up to hands and knees)

Give me a minute.

                            VILLAIN

I don't pay you to lay around! Get up there!

(kicks Henchman1, he ends up flat on the floor again)

On my way, Boss.

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

(Henchman1 enters, crosses to close door, opens it, looks in
crevices, shouts)

I don't see no payload here, Boss.

                            VILLAIN

(voiceover)

Bring the girl, then! Do I have to hold your hand or something?!

                           HENCHMAN1

No, Boss.

(turns to window)

The girl is out on the roof. I'll get her.

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

(Katie assembles two halves of a miniature ball, then, pokes
three hold in one side with the point of a pencil, then she
holds the ball in the palm of her hand at arm's length, it grows
to the size, and color of a bowling ball, when it gets too
heavy, her hand lowers it to the roof and let's it go, the ball
rolls down the roof as Henchman1 exits the window and turns
toward Katie, the ball knocks him down like a bowling pin)

(sound cue: bowling ball hits pins)

INT AFTERNOON MEDIUM: KATIE'S KITCHEN

(Henchman1 is seen falling and screaming into the bushes in the
yard behind Villain)

                            VILLAIN

What's going on up there?!

Hello?!

(toward stairway)

Good grief! She's a little girl! Can't you low lifes even handle
a little girl?!

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

                            VILLAIN

(enters, sees Henchman2 groaning and struggling)

I can't believe you would let a little girl get the best of you.

                           HENCHMAN2

It wasn't the girl what got me, Boss. It was a pigeon.

                            VILLAIN

That's even worse!

(grabs Henchman2 by the collar and belt and lifts him up)

I'm getting very impatient with you. You don't want me to get
impatient with you, do you?

                           HENCHMAN2

(staggering toward window)

No sir, Boss. I'll get her this time. I promise I'll get her
this time.

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

(Katie assembles the two halves of a miniature green clay
lightning bolt, holds it in the palm of her hand, it turns
white, then glows, then grows, she throws it into the air as
Henchman2 exits the window and turns toward her, the lightning
strikes Henchman2 and lights him up)

(sound cue: thunder)

(Henchman2 falls kicking and screaming into the bushes in the
back yard)

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

                            VILLAIN

(crosses to window)

What was that?! It can't be lightning! There's not a cloud in
the sky.

(looks out and down, sees both henchmen smoldering, groaning and
struggling in the bushes below)

I can't believe two grown men would let a little girl get the
best of them! Get up here!

                           HENCHMAN1

Give me a minute, Boss.

                            VILLAIN

Oh, nevermind! If I want something done right, I'll have to do
it myself!

(draws a pistol)

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

(Katie assembles the head and body of a green clay miniature
eagle, then holds it in the palm of her hand, it turns black,
its head turns white, it grows to the size of a bald eagle, it
hops off her hand and dives toward the window, snatches the
pistol from Villain with both feet and flies out of frame)

INT AFTERNOON WIDE: KATIE'S ROOM

(backs into room)

What was that?! If I didn't know better, I'd say that was a...

(pulls a second pistol from inside his suit coat)

Nevermind that, I came here to retrieve the payload from that
spacecraft and I will not fail!

(crawls out the window, shouts)

So, what surprises do you have for me this time, you little rug
rat?

EXT AFTERNOON WIDE: THE ROOFTOP

                             KATIE

(looking down at the empty serving tray on her lap)

Nothing. I'm all out.

                            VILLAIN

Well, then, let's not delay...

                             KATIE

But the eagle...

(points skyward)

does.

                            VILLAIN

Eagle?

(looks up)

What eagle?

(eagle, now flying directly above Villain's head, releases the
pistol, it falls)

Oh, no!

(pistol lands on Villain's forehead, he falls backward off the
roof)

(sound cue: police sirens approach)
