WORKOUT 5'?m?f Discipleship, scripture memory, priorities

OTHERS -- Second Timothy three sixteen. (read) All Scripture is
God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting

LEADER -- Repeat the verse.

OTHERS -- Second Timothy three sixteen.

WIMP -- (enters with towel over shoulder, carrying Bible)

LEADER -- (puts up hands) Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Stop the
music.

(music stops)

LEADER -- What are do you think you're doing?

WIMP -- I... I came to work out.

LEADER -- You've already missed half of the workout. Look at
you. You're spiritually weak and puny.

WIMP -- I... I'm sorry, I just haven't had time....

LEADER -- A mature Christian has to TAKE the time for growing
spiritual muscles.

WIMP -- I... I know.

LEADER -- With spiritual muscles like yours, how would you ever
conquer temptation?

WIMP -- I... I'm sorry. I don't know.

LEADER -- Alright, get in formation there. (points) Class, let's
review our last workout. Music please.

(music up, they begin their movements)

LEADER -- First Corinthians ten thirteen. And turn...

OTHERS -- (open Bible)

LEADER -- And turn...

OTHERS -- (turn pages in unison, look on left page, look on

LEADER -- Recite.

OTHERS -- First Corinthians ten thirteen. No temptation has
seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he
will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when
you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can
stand up under it.

LEADER -- Repeat the verse.

OTHERS -- First Corinthians ten thirteen.

(music stops)

LEADER -- Alright, everybody. Hit the showers.

OTHERS -- (exit)

WIMP -- (grabs knees, gasps for breath)

LEADER -- What's the matter? Out of spiritual condition?

WIMP -- (bends over grabs towel, blotting face with towel) Isn't
there an easier way to spiritual maturity? I mean, how about a
magic pill, like chromium picolinate or shark cartilage? I heard
that speaking in tongues or being slain in the spirit is
shortcut to spiritual maturity.

LEADER -- There are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity, It's
just plain hard work and repetitions. You've got to be in your
Bible every day. Stay with it. You'll be alright. (exits)

WIMP -- (straightens, grabs back in pain exiting) I really
have to do this more often.
